Port Orchard

The citizens of Port Orchard have an opportunity to help guide and design the creation of the newest Port Orchard regional park. The site, McCormick Village Park (MVP), is a large tract of land lying just north of Old Clifton Road and west of Chanting Circle. The MVP development subcommittee will be meeting once per month, and reporting to the Planning Commission at their regularly scheduled meetings.

With the help of a professional park planning consultant, as many as three alternative park designs will be submitted for public comment and City Council approval. It is expected that City Council will approve one of the design alternatives in December 2010, with construction to begin summer of 2011.

Subcommittee meetings will be open to the public. Public comments are encouraged via e-mail and/or written letter. All comments will become part of the official record.

SOLICITING COMMENTS!
The Park design process is underway. At the August 11, 2010 MVP Plan Subcommittee meeting, the three draft alternatives were reviewed, resulting in a Draft Preferred Alternative.
