The Assistant Treasurer serves in the capacity of an assistant finance director. Responsibilities include daily receipitng and disbursing transactions, recording of budget transactions, cash reconciliation, preparation of journal entries, posting and balancing, and prepares the Annual Report and accompanying financial statements. As the Finance Department's chief accountant, the incumbent supervises the work of six support staff positions, charged with utility billing, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, capital assets, and liabilities. The Assistant Treasurer works closely with the City Treasurer to promote the overal efficiency of the office and provides finance and accounting support to city departments.
