The Mayor, who is elected at-large for a four-year term, serves as the chief administrative officer and as such is responsible to the City Council in preparing the annual budget, submitting it to the Council, and administering it after it is approved; enacting the Council’s policies; providing City Department overview and liaison; and representing the City officially to the public and other governmental agencies.

Council Meetings

The City Council meets twice a month on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, with a work session held on the third Tuesday. Council meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Robert G. Geiger Council Chambers, 216 Prospect Street, Port Orchard, WA.
