South Kitsap Recreational Facility Taskforce |

Through a collaborative and transparent partnership, Kitsap County and the City of Port Orchard are exploring the possibility of locating a recreational facility in South Kitsap. The first stop for this multifaceted concept is to survey South Kitsap residents about their preferences for recreational, fitness and community center opportunities across all ages. To assist in this effort, the City and County have formed a Taskforce made of South Kitsap community leaders. The Taskforce will assist in collecting information to determine the following: Existing facility/program capacity in the South Kitsap area. The facility/program desires of the South Kitsap community. The community’s willingness to pay for such facilities/programs not only for facility construction, but for ongoing operation and maintenance.
The group will then recommend whether there should be a facility and if so, they will recommend the potential size, scale and amenities of the facility. Next Meeting Date: Date to be determined, Port Orchard City Hall, Council Conference Room Agendas Minutes Meeting Materials
