The primary goals for the design standards are to: ensure that new development is high quality and benefits Port Orchard; upgrade the appearance and function of Port Orchard’s major transportation corridors; ensure that new development is compatible with existing neighborhoods; promote walking and bicycling in residential and commercial areas; and maintain and enhance property values. A draft of the proposed design standards is available for review at: https://www.cityofportorchard.us/regulations/, or at the front counter of the City’s Community Development Department, 720 Prospect St.A public open house on the design standards will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 6 pm – 8 pm in the City Council Chambers, 3rd floor of City Hall, 216 Prospect Street. All interested persons are invited to attend.
