Notice of Application/SEPA Threshold Determination

The City of Port Orchard has received a land development application that requires review under the State Environmental Policy Act for the following project that may be of interest to you. You are invited to comment on this proposal.

Project Description: Construction of a public park with beach access, viewing and picnic areas and sculptural interpretive signage. Three parking stalls will be installed as part of the project. This project will enhance and improve pedestrian access to the shoreline provided by the Bay Street Pedestrian Path that was permitted under separate shoreline permits.

Project Location: Bay Street, north of developed Rockwell Avenue. There is no site address, as the site is currently undeveloped. The tax parcel number is 4063-001-001-0201 in Section 25, Township 24N, Range 01E.

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW:

The City of Port Orchard has reviewed the proposal for probable adverse environmental and expects to issue a Determination of Non-Significance (DNS) for this project. The optional DNS process in WAC 197-11-355 is being used. This may be your only opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of the proposed project. Applicable documents are available for review at 720 Prospect Street, Port Orchard, WA 98366.

Agencies, tribes and the public are encouraged to review and comment on the proposed project and its probable environmental impacts. Comments must be received by the date noted above to City of Port Orchard, 216 Prospect Street, Port Orchard, WA 98366
