Governor's Proclamation 20-28

The Governor has issued a proclamation concerning the Public Records Act. This proclamation has been extended until 11:59pm on December 7, 2020. Proclamation 20-28.13 See also RCW 42.56.

With the current public health emergency during the COVID-19 disease outbreak, the Governor has issued a proclamation that agencies must still respond to Public Records Act requests during the COVID-19 disease outbreak; however, the Governor’s proclamation temporarily suspends Public Records Act language requiring agencies to provide an ability for the public to conduct Public Records Act business at an agency office, in-person, such as in-person inspection of records or in-person submission of Public Records Act requests.

Public Records Requests

In accordance with the Washington State Public Records Act, RCW 42.56, the City of Port Orchard allows for the inspection or copies of records unless specifically exempted by law. Once a request has been submitted, the City of Port Orchard may contact the requestor for clarification of the request or to coordinate delivery of the records.

City records, including ordinances, resolutions, Council and advisory meeting packets and agendas, and permit applications are available online on our Documents page.
