Earlier this year, PSE announced its aspirational goal of becoming a Beyond Net Zero Carbon energy company by 2045. There are different components that will help us get there, including the state’s Clean Energy Transformation Act (CETA), a groundbreaking law that sets clean energy targets for our electric supply.
We’re now developing a new clean electric energy plan with equity and community interests in mind, and we want your input to shape the plan. I’m pleased to announce the launch of PSE’s Clean Electricity Benefits survey, which we will use to inform PSE’s first Clean Energy Implementation Plan (CEIP), a four-year roadmap to guide our clean electricity investments. The survey will be available until June 1, 2021 and is available in various languages.
This first CEIP will guide our clean electricity programs, actions and investments for 2022-2025 and helps us work towards reaching our CETA goals of 100 percent clean electricity by 2045. We have an ambitious schedule to deliver our first CEIP roadmap by Oct. 1, 2021 in line with the schedule given to us by the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission. We want to move quickly to make the changes our customers and environment need, and ensure we are listening and learning as we make progress together. This year is only the start.
We want to ensure all customers benefit from the transition to clean electricity, and we know we can’t do this work alone. We’re partnering with our customers, our new Equity Advisory Group, and other stakeholders to develop and implement the CEIP roadmap in a way that addresses our customer needs and CETA milestones.
As we transform our electric system, PSE remains committed to reliable, safe, and affordable energy for our customers. To learn more and be a part of the clean electricity transformation, visit: cleanenergyplan.pse.com and please support this work by filling out the survey below.
